Comments about the 2008 Poth Pirates

 Coach: Andrew King. Lettermen R/L: 7/23. Starters returning O/D: 4/3. 2007: 7-4 DII bi-district finalists/6-1 district.

Players to watch: LB Aaron Fuller (5-9, 180, 4.7), TE Holden Beasley (6-1, 185, 4.7), OL Chaz Laijas (6-0, 215, 4.9). Top juniors: DL Chance Dziuk (5-11, 195, 4.8), LB Cesar Ramon (5-8, 185, 5.0).

Other prospects: FS Nathan Serna, LB Michael Alfaro, OL Charles Eckel.

2008 notes: Coach King takes over a team that lost 23 seniors and a majority of its starters. LB Fuller (89 tackles) has been first-team all-district the last two years and King said he will be the Pirates' defensive leader.  TE Beasley (7-124, 1 TD) will line up alongside Laijas and Eckel on the OL. Serna also played RB.
